How do I book my first session?
Get in touch by phone, email or the contact form on this page. We'll arrange a free, no-obligation phone conversation so you can ask questions and we can find a time that suits you.
How long does a session last?
Individual sessions last 50 minutes. Couples sessions and clinical supervision are usually 60 minutes. Workshops and corporate sessions are arranged to suit the group.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number. Some people find a handful of sessions enough; others prefer longer-term work. We review progress together regularly and you are free to stop at any time.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between us, with the rare legal exceptions we explain at your first session — such as a serious risk of harm to you or another person. Therapists also discuss anonymised work in clinical supervision, which is a standard part of safe practice.
What does a session cost?
Full, current fees are listed on our Pricing page. The initial phone conversation is always complimentary.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to change or cancel a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice are charged in full, as the time has been reserved for you.
Do you offer online or telephone sessions?
Yes. Sessions can take place in person at the Barn, by video call or by telephone — whichever helps you feel most comfortable and fits your week.
Where are you and is there parking?
We're at Unit 1a, Hill Farm, Church Lane, Ford End, Chelmsford CM3 1LH. There is free on-site parking, a discreet separate entrance and step-free access to the therapy room.
Do you work with young people?
Yes, we work with young people as well as adults. Please mention their age when you get in touch so we can talk through the right approach and any consent needed.
Are you qualified and insured?
Our therapists are professionally qualified, fully insured and registered with recognised bodies such as the BACP and NCPS, working to their ethical frameworks.
In their words
What our clients say.
“Having carried around my problems stemming back from childhood, I have seen a few counsellors who I felt just didn’t grasp my problems, they just didn't get it. I felt awkward because I am male, like nobody understood my struggles or would accept me being so sad. Thank you Lynda, because you just so get it.”
